The show started with the first challenge. The designers were asked to design an outfit that expressed who they are in a word. Each designer chose a word, then they were blindfolded and taken to a supermarket (Monoprix) . They had to execute their dresses using items from the supermarket only. They had a budget of 50$ each. The time given for the challenge was approximately 24 hours. The result was many interesting outfits that consisted of brooms, gloves, pasta, rugs etc...

The winning outfit was designed by the Lebanese Kristy Samaha and was made out of kitchen gloves and metallic scourers. The losing dress was designed by the Tunisian Monia Ben Hamouda and was made out of Arabic bread. Monia was eliminated from the show.

The jury included Stephane Roland (Creative Director of the legendary couture house  Jean Louis Scherrer and member of  the French syndicate of “Haute Couture”), Desiree Sadek (Chairperson to Elle Oriental Magazine), Tilda Ghosn (Lebanese modern jewellery designer).
